JOANNEUM RESEARCH (JR) is a leading international research organization located in Graz (Austria) that develops solutions and technologies for businesses and industry covering a wide range of sectors. JR has a focus on applied research and technology development and promotes technology transfer to industry. Within JR the institute HEALTH -‐‐ Institute for Biomedical Research and Technologies and COREMED – Centre for Regenerative and Precision Medicine participate in the ForceRepair project . HEALTH provides a strong expertise in bioengineering and sampling techniques and in clinical and preclinical applications. JR has developed a sampling technique - open flow microperfusion (OFM) for peripheral tissue sampling which is mainly applied in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics studies. COREMED has a strong expertise in wound healing and has developed different animal models for dermal wound healing, tissue inflammation and tissue regeneration. Joanneum Research In cooperation with the US FDA, JR is currently developing a new measurement system to test for bioequivalence in the skin. OFM sampling currently used in various industrial projects and academic projects funded by national (FFG, BMK) and international institutions (US-FDA, EU). JR has also developed several different animal models to test pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics and holds a row of patents regarding the sampling technology and applications in animal models.
Role within Force Repair
JR will be responsible for testing of the developed wound healing product regarding effect, efficiency and pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic behavior of the within ForceRepair developed wound dressing. Testing will be performed in animal models and can include testing of components and the complete system.
