Science on Tap: University of Eastern Piedmont Presents FORCE REPAIR to the Public at “Beer with a Scientist”
Novara, (November 6,2025) — Science and conviviality met over a pint at “Beer with a Scientist – Ricercatori alla Spina”, an engaging science outreach event that took place at Nòva in Novara. Our project partners Giuseppe Cappellano and Davide Raineri from University of Eastern Piedmont attended the event and represented FORCE REPAIR.
Organized by the Department of Health Sciences of the University of Eastern Piedmont, this initiative is inspired by an idea from Prof. Claudio Forte of the University of Turin and produced by Psiquadro in collaboration with Centroscienza Onlus. This innovative format takes scientific debate out of university lecture halls and into a relaxed, social environment—where participants can enjoy an aperitif or dinner while chatting directly with scientists. Alongside the usual food and drink options, guests are invited to browse a unique “scientific menu”, where each beer corresponds to a different topic of research and outreach, “served” by researchers themselves.

Among the featured presentations, our project partner Davide Raineri introduced Beer No. 5: “The Avengers Patch – The New League of Superheroes for Chronic Wounds”, part of the FORCE REPAIR dissemination initiative. The talk described a new generation of advanced wound patches working in synergy like a team of superheroes: the anti-bacterial hero fights infections, the anti-inflammatory soothes irritation, and the pro-regenerative promotes tissue repair. Together, these “heroes” form a powerful alliance to accelerate healing and restore healthy skin.
Open to students, researchers, and the general public, Beer with a Scientist turned a casual drink into an opportunity to share knowledge, foster dialogue, and celebrate the power of science in everyday life.
